Panfu Year in Review 2025

Hello Pandas!

The year is almost over, and overall it has been rather quiet for Panfu. Time passed quickly, and we were not able to implement all the goals we had set for ourselves.

Still, quite a lot has happened.

Registered Pandas: 6,781 (2024: 17,107)

Bans issued: 255 (2024: 345)

Important changes

• Return to Panfu.me after losing the domain in 2020. Until January 2025, we used Panfu.us.
• Robby is back when wearing the corresponding sticker from the Panfu.me Shop.
• Improved loading times: faster navigation in the catalog, entering full rooms, and redecorating the treehouse.
• The new website became the default – the first major redesign since 2017.
• The Panfu.me Shop received a major update with over 430 new items. Thanks to sonni and Dati for their help.
• Fullscreen support in the game window via F11.
• Panda of the Day receives double coins in minigames and an in-game notification.
• The level booster now only works once per week.
• The Nutella player card background was revised and no longer shows a jar.
• Start of tracking total playtime.
• Introduction of Logibot, a simple AI chatbot for new players.
• New emote: oiia, the spinning cat.
• Revision of achievements and correct avatar glow; removal of the “bla” chat commands.
• Opening of the cinema with old Christmas movies and cartoons from the 1930s.
• Transformations and actions of other Pandas are now visible when entering a room. Further improvements are planned.
• Discord activity integration and taskbar flashing for inactivity warnings in the desktop application.

Highlights

• The pirate giveaway centered around Pandabeard was received very positively.
• The Halloween party was well attended, including a Dress to Impress event by fredzia and iida.

Final words

The big update, Pokopet Race, and Oloko are still in development. We are not keeping you waiting on purpose – we want to implement everything cleanly, bug-free, and future-proof. Panfu’s codebase is over 17 years old and requires time; many areas had to be reworked multiple times or completely rewritten. With only one person handling the entire technical side, this unfortunately takes longer, but we remain optimistic.

In 2026, Panfu.me will turn ten years old and will then be older than the original Panfu ever was. Thank you to all active players and to those who drop by from time to time. You are the reason we keep going.

The Cinema Has Opened!

Hello Pandas!

A famous producer and film director has arrived in Panfu and transformed one of the unused buildings at the harbor into a cinema.

The cinema is open every day from 6 PM to 11 PM (CEST) and shows a wide variety of films every hour. Admission is completely free — and best of all: you can join a movie that’s already playing at any time.

There are three halls:

• Hall 1: Old Christmas movies from the early 30s
• Hall 2: Old cartoons from the early 30s
• Hall 3: Films shot in Panfu

To help you get to the cinema even faster, you can now use the commands goto cinema and goto theater in the chat.

We’re celebrating 9 years of Panfu.me!

Hello Pandas!

On October 4, 2016, Panfu.me was founded. What started back then as a small project with around 50 players has now become the community’s largest project: over 350,000 registered users and still thousands of active players every month.

To celebrate, there are once again birthday items in the Panfu.me shop. Click on the catalog at the top left and select the last catalog. There will also be a birthday party in the ballroom, where you can receive a hat and a cake.

We’re Panfu.me again

Dear Pandas,

We’re thrilled to announce that Panfu is back on its original domain: Panfu.me! Over the next few weeks, Panfu.us will automatically redirect to Panfu.me. Please note that this will require you to log in again.

Four years ago, we sadly lost our beloved domain due to a series of unfortunate events involving our host, the domain provider, and mistakes on our part. But now, Panfu is finally back where it belongs!

In the coming weeks, we’ll update all logos to match the new domain.

Panfu Year in Review 2024

The year 2024 is coming to an end, and it’s time to reflect on everything that happened on Panfu this year – from new features and statistics to our plans for 2025.

Statistics

• Registered Pandas: 17,107 (2023: 10,059)
• Active Pandas (at least one login): 18,297 (2023: 13,998)
• Issued bans: 345 (2023: 622)

Changes in 2024

• Ruffle integration: A Flash Player emulator was added, allowing Panfu to be played directly in browsers again – even on mobile devices. While there are still bugs and optimization needed, it’s a significant step forward.
• New website (Beta): The blog returned, and the design was modernized and optimized for mobile devices.
• Polish language: Polish was added as a new language, currently only for the Beta website. More languages might follow in the future, but the effort required is immense, so we need to carefully consider which ones are worth it.
• Bugfixes: Numerous issues were resolved to improve the gameplay experience.

Outlook for 2025

• The long-awaited update: We’ve been working on it for years and hope to finish it in 2025. This update will allow us to modify every aspect of Panfu. Existing quests can be improved, and new quests, achievements, and mini-games will be added. The update also includes significant improvements to Panfu’s code.
• Return of Oloko: We plan to make Oloko playable again. You will be able to log in using your Panfu account. However, it will remain a side project, as Panfu will continue to be our highest priority.
• Pokopet Race: Work continues on Pokopet abilities and the obstacles, which will be implemented on the server.
• More events and quests: Multiplayer quests like “Missing Ella” and the Giant Robot will return. After the update, new quests and regular events are planned.
• Advertising and social media: We aim to become active on TikTok and run advertisements to attract even more Pandas to Panfu.

8 years ago, we started with Panfu, and it’s amazing that new Pandas are still joining every day – without any advertising. We’re incredibly thankful for your loyalty and activity. Without you, Panfu wouldn’t be what it is today. Thank you for an amazing 2024 – we look forward to experiencing 2025 with you!

The Panfu Blog returns!

We are very excited to announce that our new website is now live! It is currently in open beta, and we look forward to your feedback to further improve it.

Especially exciting is the return of the Panfu Blog. Here you will find announcements of events, moments from the community, contests, tutorials, and monthly summaries of changes in Panfu.

An update for the client will follow soon. After that, we can introduce new and old quests, new achievements, additional bug fixes, and features.
